My First Visit
Table of Contents
ToggleEvery visit to the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, India, is extraordinary and difficult to put into words. My first visit was a journey of transformation, beginning with a desire to escape the confusion and agitation of everyday life and find a fresh start.
Seeking Solace and Renewal
There comes a time when you crave a place to clear your mind and rejuvenate your spirit. Often, this need arises from experiencing pain or navigating uncertain situations. Spirituality becomes a beacon, guiding many through life’s challenges.
Life is a continuous flow of experiences, and managing these experiences within our relationships and daily existence is our responsibility. Exploring these experiences can bring profound impacts.
A Life-Changing Program
In 2009, I embarked on my first Isha program, the Inner Engineering program, which illuminated my path. Listening to Sadhguru discuss various topics made me realise the potential of a clear mind and higher goals. I knew I needed to work on my self-belief and clarity. My journey continued in Delhi as an Isha volunteer, where simplicity and practicality became my guiding principles.
Volunteering and Personal Growth
Volunteering in Delhi reinforced my belief that dedication knows no excuses. Despite lingering questions and mental turmoil, I decided to visit the Isha Yoga Centre to seek answers and find happiness.
Planning the Visit
Curiosity drove me to apply as a volunteer for the residential Inner Engineering Program. The center offers free meals and stays for volunteers, but you can book a cottage if you prefer. Booking early is advisable due to high demand.
Journey to Coimbatore
South India is renowned for its cultural heritage, coastal cuisine, scenic views, and Ayurvedic spas. My visit to Isha Yoga Centre was solely to explore my life’s journey. After a quick flight from Delhi, I reached Coimbatore Airport and took a 1.5-hour taxi ride to the center, away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
First Impressions
Stepping into the Yoga Centre, I felt an immediate, powerful sense of energy. The landscape, location, and welcoming atmosphere with gentle “Namaskaram” greetings were deeply moving. The center, bustling with peacefulness, felt well-managed and lively. The calm vibrations helped streamline my mind, and the ashram’s cleanliness and positive energy were uplifting.
Smooth Registration
At the Helpdesk, my details were already in the database, and I was allocated a free dormitory stay for five days. The registration process was quick and efficient, leaving me impressed with the center’s organization.
Settling In
After reaching my dormitory (Alayam), I prepared for volunteering work. The stay included two meals a day, allowing me to focus on my visit’s goal. A golf cart took me to the dormitory, where I felt a surge of energy as I settled in and explored the center’s systematic functioning.
